Create a self-portrait from objects

A self-portrait is a portrait of the artist made by that artist. Did you know artists have been making all kinds of portraits of themselves for thousands of years?

For this activity, you will create a non-representational portrait of yourself. So instead of depicting the shape of your nose with pencil or painting your skin tone with paint, you will gather objects around your house to create a picture of you.

Who are you? What qualities do you like about yourself? What activities do you enjoy doing? What is important to you? Once you have answered these questions look around your house to see what objects you have that could represent these things.

What you'll need:

camera, objects around the house

For example, my portrait could include a leaf to represent my love of hikes and camping, my ukulele I love to sing worship music on, some art supplies for my awesome students and the earrings my grandmother gave me because family is important to me.
