Faces in things

Have you ever noticed that you can create a face with just two dots and a line? Even though human faces look nothing like two dots and a line, our minds love abstraction.  The mind will simplify faces into the most basic representation and still be able to recognize it as a face. Because of this, not only do my students love drawing two dots and a line in all of their sketchbook prompts, but our minds can allow us to see faces inanimate objects.

Search your house for any faces in things. This may be an activity you are able to do right away, or this may be something you need to be on the lookout for a few days before you find faces at your house. Keep your eyes pealed and snap a photo when you spot one!
