Create a landscape collage

To create a collage, start with a very simple line drawing. Landscapes make great collage subjects because they are naturally divided into 3 sections (foreground, middle ground, and background).

Then begin gluing your papers into each of the sections you have created. You can cut the paper into strips for a clean look or rip it for added texture. I prefer to water down my glue a little, put it in a small cup and apply it with a paintbrush. This gives me a lot more control.

You can make patterned papers yourself using several of the other activities to show you how to do that (37, 38, 39, 40 & 41). You can also look around your house for papers. Magazines, the back of old homework (that you no longer need!), newspaper, gift wrap, and even the inside of business envelopes are all places to find papers for your collage!

What you'll need:

Paper, pencil, glue, small cup, paintbrush, scissors, and patterned papers
